"Only an imagination made of stone could fail to stir at the thought of a real-world USS Enterprise blasting away from Earth within 20 years, reaching Mars in three months and restoring a sense of epic grandeur to mankind’s spacefaring dreams.

But is that vision, which went viral thanks to the detailed blueprints of an anonymous self-described engineer known only as BTE Dan, actually possible? Trillion-dollar price tag aside, could this 21st century interpretation of the Enterprise boldly go where no one has gone before?

Unfortunately not, say spacecraft designers, but it’s still a worthwhile thought experiment."

Huzzah, I finally got my internet connection back. I've been on cold turkey for the past 6 or 7 weeks. I didn't even really know how much I relied on the internet until I couldn't simply look up the weather, a cooking recipe or the name of the actor in some random tv movie I wanted to check anymore.

I also missed most of the TV shows (some guilty pleasures, too) this year. Now I feel so out of the loop that I will probably just wait until the DVD boxes come out and watch everything in a marathon TV session...

Good thing I have the Lana Del Rey album now. Even though it's sort of moody and depressing, I like her lyrics and her voice. Check her out if you've been living under a rock (like me)!

Call Me Doctor

Hart of Dixie is my guilty pleasure. No, Dr. Zoe Hart isn't always "realistic", but neither are most other doctors and medical procedures on TV. That's why it's call entertainment, people.

I really like the beat of this video, though. They should sell it online, get some money for charity or the like.

Starting in February, French fast food burger chain Quick will offer two Star Wars-themed burgers, a “Jedi Burger” and a “Dark Vador Burger” (which has a pitch-black bun).

Customers will decide which of these two burgers is really the ultimate power in the universe.

Of course, the question that still remains is … what the heck is on top of the patty in that Jedi Burger? Garlic? Marshmallows? Yoda meat? Only the wise burgermasters at Quick know for sure.

Earlier today, actor Nathan Fillion, among others, tweeted out a link to muchadothemovie.com, announcing that Whedon had finished principal photography on a film presumably based on William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing.

The cast includes a host of Whedonverse alums, including Nathan Fillion (Firefly, Buffy, and Dr. Horrible), Amy Acker (Angel and Dollhouse), Alexis Denisof (Buffy, Angel, and Dollhouse), Sean Maher (Firefly), Reed Diamond (Dollhouse), Tom Lenk (Buffy), and Fran Kranz (Dollhouse and The Cabin in the Woods), as well as Clark Gregg, a.k.a. Agent Coulson fromIron Man, Thor, and The Avengers.
Whedon has famously held Shakespeare readings at his home from time to time, but how he managed to squeeze this project into his post-production schedule on The Avengers remains a tantalizing mystery. Much Ado follows two couples — Benedick and Beatrice, chatty and cynical, and Claudio and Hero, driven almost mute by their love for each other — who are comically tricked by the dastardly Don John. Given that Acker and Denisof share top billing in Whedon’s film, it’s fair to surmise that they’re playing Benedick and Beatrice.

This is my new guilty pleasure (next to Rachel Zoe Project, which isn't even guilty any more...)

Look at this cast! Pretty, right?

The Big Lebowski

I don't know a single person who has not seen the opening scene of "The Big Lebowski". The Dude paying for a carton of milk with credit card is classic. Epic even.
Now they released a fancy blue ray version to milk that cash cow some more. Thing is, they got the cast together 13 years after they made the movie. Now that's something.

The Nine Lives of Chloe King: 1x09 "responsible" promo

This show is my new guilty pleasure. It's a silly teenage / coming-of-age show in which the characters are about a decade younger than me and their problems so far removed from mine that they might be just from another planet. But I adore the witty dialogue and the fast pacing of this show. The relationship between Chloe and her mother Meredith are reminiscent of the Gilmore Girls era. Good times. And of course I'ma sucker for the whole cat people thing. I have loved it since Dark Angel and I will stick to that theme no matter what.

Still, the cast is so young it's somewhat disturbing. I keep thinking that the two main hotties should hook up and f*** each other's brains out already, but then I remember they are both still in high school and that sex would be totally out of place in this ABC family show. Ha.

Unlike some other shows (Game of Thrones, True Blood) on HBO that come to my mind. *cough*

On the other hand, I am absolutely thrilled with the prospect of seeing my childhood heroine, Buffy, - as in Sarah Michelle Gellar or simply SMG - back on the small screen. I haven't really watched any of her movies, and she has not really been visible all that much either. But now she's back and her show (that she's also a producer of I believe) looks badass-rockin' as I would have only wished for.
September 13th is the premiere date of "Ringer" on the CW. And if you have not checked out the trailer/promo yet, you should:
